Where Should I go?

I'm sure that everyone has experienced the time when you feel completely confused, lost, and down because of something. And it's really not a good feeling.

I am on my last year of senior high school. This is the time when students have already chose where they'd like to go to college and what major they want to take. I used to be so very certain that I'm going to study fine art at Bandung (on one of the most famous university in Indonesia >,<). I was very happy because I thought that I already know what I want to do in the future while lots of my friends still haven't decided yet. I have already pictured my future in Bandung and learn to paint, sculpt, and things like that. Things that I love to do.

But, life is not that simple. My mom decided that learning fine art = no job. I tried many many many times to convince my parents that I really want to learn fine art because it has been my dream and passion to be an artist since I was a little girl. I told them that fine art also has job opportunities like any other major. But unfortunately they did not believe me.

I have a friend that also wanted to study in Bandung. She applied and just a few days ago she got accepted :D (congrats!). Even though I'm super excited and proud of her, I really feel sad because I'd always imagined that I will be going to Bandung too with her. So now I have to say goodbye to my dream and find another future for me. I just hope that I'll like my life in college.

The Video that Makes my Day

Recently, I watched a video link that my brother gave to me.

I'ts a recording of a guy playing a game called "Call of Juares", a game about cowboys shooting each others asses. You maybe have heard of that game, my bro also played that video game about a year ago maybe.

So, when I first watched it, It was kinda weird... This guy started to chase after a donkey into a corner and the donkey climbed the frickin stairs 0_o. And then this guy started laughing like crazy, I first thought that this video was stupid... But, after watching this video longer I think the laughing virus caught me. I ended up laughing like crazy too and hurt my stomach :))

I guess I've found happiness in this video

MAGANG NYOK!

Yellow! Has anyone of you tried to do apprentice work at a restaurant? I have! And there are hi and lows in this work.

Last week, my school gave an assignment to all the high school students to do apprentice work at any shops, restaurants, or company for 2 days and in pairs. I wasn't very psyched about the idea of "working". I pictured that it would be very physically and mentally hard. And I have no one to work with cos anyone already had their mates. But lucky for me, a friend of mine wanted to work with me. His name is Dimitri Joseph, who I usually call Boncai.

We decided to look for a job at Puri Indah Mall, the closest mall from my house. I thought it would be easy to find it, considering it's all restaurants and shops everywhere. But... Every one of the stores that we've entered said that they either don't take apprentices, or that we had to go to their center office at Gajahmada, Gatotsubroto, Kemayoran, ect.
We were beginning to feel desperate of all the rejections, until we found a beacon of light beside XXI Cinema. "Shabu-Tei".

They immediately took us in with arms wide open. So, we started working next monday at 10.30 am. My friends who were also working at Puri Mall met with us at the foodcourt before starting their job. They are Melissa Lukman and Natasha Sudewo. They worked at a child care centre named GYMBOREE. After having a little chitchat, we started working.

Boncai and me went to Shabu-Tei and introduced ourselves to the other waitresses and cooks who work there. They are; mbak Fitri, mbak Nina, mbak Nita, Mbak Dede, Mas Budi , and many others. I'm sorry I couldn't memorize all of your names! All I know that you're all very nice people :) GBU! They were very friendly and nice to us.

They taught us how to greet customers in Japanese. Irashaimase when customers get in, waiso! when they ask for bill, and Domo arigato gozaimashita whet they go out. They also taught us how to fold napkins and hold trays that they call obong. I actually enjoyed myself while working there, because it was a whole new experience for me...

The restaurant was very crowded at lunchtime and dinner time, but so empty afterwards. So at the spare time, we were asked to fold napkins. Lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of napkins. I folded napkins until I was sick of the color white, and my neck hurt. After that we didn't know what to do because there were no customers. When a person came in, we were so excited and we had to fight for whether who gets to deliver the food. It was hilarious!

All of our customers were nice, except for some of the annoying-rich-Chinese-executive-looking people. Why?
  1. They nag,
  2. they complain,
  3. they never smile,
  4. they never say thank you,
  5. they look at you in a very degrading look,
  6. and they immediately mock you in mandarin the second you walk away.
Since then, I knew how annoying it was to be ignored and to not be appreciated as a waitress. So, when y'all go into a restaurant, treat you waiter/waitress good, and appreciate their work! Respect them even though it's their job to serve you!

While working, our friends also stopped by a Sushi-Tei to bully me and Boncai. Thore people are;
Melissa, Natasha, Thong, Devira, Joseph, and Ryan. They only ordered one sushi and one iced ocha that can be refilled. They asked for refill for about 6 times.

That day, we went home at 8 pm with no energy left. On the way to the exit gate, we met Ryan Aristo and found two lime green PROTECT-A BED balloons! Yay! We brought home those balloons.

The next day, we went to work at 10.30 am and met lots of friends;
Sashia, Devira, Florencia, and Thong. That day went on like the other day before, but we had to say goodbye to Shabu-Tei. Honestly, I was kinda sad to leave that restaurant cos I was already beginning to get used of it. So, we said our goodbyes to everyone and went home with new and improved selves....

Completato!

T-Shirt!

I like to design T-shirts, and last month I got a chance to make one for my class T-shirt. I was thinking of a design that most my classmates would love, so I decided to draw monsters, but the cute ones. Not the goth scary type of monsters. I was really thrilled to make it, and it took me about 5-6 hours to complete the whole design.
At the end, I really liked how it looked!

This was the first design. Because my friends thought it was too dull, I decided to put more pastel colours in it...And voila!
This one is the final design!

Si Mbek

Yello all! This time I'm going to talk about my dear friend, "si mbek"

I "used" to have a favorite pencil case/stuffed animal named "si mbek". Si mbek was a very cute shawn the sheep doll that I always carry around everywhere. I even take it to bed with me :).

So anyways, I was already best buds with si mbek, but many of my jealous friends; Thong, Melissa, Feni, Boncai, Tomi, Sasa, and other participants like to play catch with mbek, every single day. They just don't get tired of it! Then one day, while my friends were playing with mbek, My math teacher, Madam Veronica 'trapesium' Suljani confiscated my mbek!! She told me that I won't get it back for good. That day was a very sorrowful day for me.

Goodbye mbek, may you rest in peace... Will I ever find a better pencilcase to replace you? I don't think so...

The Red Balloon

Maybe you're wondering why I named my blog The Balloon Message. I just thought it sounded nice :) , but I got the idea of the balloon from an interesting old movie called Le Ballon Rouge The movie was about a boy named Pascal who makes friend with a strange red balloon that follows him around everywhere like a dog. Other people tried to catch the balloon, but failed. But, a gang of naughty boys destroyed the balloon. The thought of it makes me sad. But suddenly, many other balloons with different colors and sizes came out from all parts of Paris, an d took the boy to the sky. Wonder if he'll come back at all.
So long Pascal...
